Whiskey Second Saturday Potluck

Every Saturday for many years now, we have gotten together to enjoy each other's company as well as our food. Come join us as we eat, laugh, cry and cook!

This month's theme, in honor of St. Patrick's Day, was whiskey.

To start off while people trickled in, we had:
popcorn, pork rinds, rice peppercorn crackers, bagel chips, pita chips and Irish soda bread.

Then we brought out the cheese balls with 10yr Laproigh made by K.
Along with some blue cheese, brie, and some store bough artichoke dip.

Then, C arrived and brought her Jim Bean sauce meatballs.

At some point we decided we wanted to watch a movie and ended up with Lucy. Meh. The rest of the evening was spent with Drunk History in the background.

R attempted to make Jack Daniels whipped cream.. but over whipped it. womp womp. R called her mom to see if it was resurrectable, but it wasn't, so the butter was strained and used for the Irish soda bread and the buttermilk was stored for later. If it's this easy to make butter, I think we'll be doing this more often!

For dessert, R made a banana Jack Daniels pie (Pi Day, btw) which was never brought out because we'd already eaten too much. We did, however, devour half of A's whiskey bread pudding with whiskey glaze!

Here's the link to the recipe for A's bread pudding which is from Emeril Lagasse.

F, at the last minute, realized that she had double booked herself, so her whiskey beef stew was missed. In it's place, somehow we decided to order BBQ ribs and grilled chicken. No pictures of that.
